Abstract: Carbazoles and benzofurans are promising candidates to improve MDR therapy as DNA intercalators and anti-TB agents, respectively. Our synthetic strategies involve the formation of different heterocyclic cores initially and later transform them into different novel small molecule inhibitors to target polyketide synthase 13 and DNA of cancerous cells. We have been successful in preparing different precursors for the same. However, we are yet to obtain desired products via carbonyl-olefin metathesis reaction. During the course of these reactions, there are certain observations that are worth pointing out. In the current project, we are trying to resolve the challenges to get our desired inhibitors for MDR Therapy.
