Conventional and inverse droop are well established methods for power sharing in islanded microgrids. Due to feeder/line impedances, one major drawback of these methods is improper power-sharing with distributed generators (DGs). A common method for resolving impedance mismatches is introducing a virtual impedance (VI), although choosing the right value is a challenge. This study, describes a decentralized method for modifying a DGs virtual impedance as a function of output current in a single-phase AC islanded microgrid. This method does not require any communication, additional sensors, or network parameter/load calculations. Simulations are used to test the method in several types of loads and meshed network configuration. The strategy is also verified with renewable intermittency to verify the proposed scheme's enhanced power-sharing performance for conventional and inverse droop methods. © 2023 IEEE.en_US
