Abstract: | Aluminium 7075 alloy is widely used in aerospace and automotive industries due to its high strength-to-weight ratio. However, traditional manufacturing processes for this alloy can lead to various issues, including porosity and poor fatigue properties. Friction Stir Powder Additive Manufacturing (FSPAM) • IS an emerging additive manufacturing technique promising to improve the fatigue behaviour and fretting wear of AA 7075 aluminium alloys. This research investigates the fatigue behaviour and fretting wear of AA7075 aluminium alloys processed using FSPAM. The study analyses the microstructure, XRD, EDS and mechanical properties such as Tensile strength, Vickers microhardness, fretting wear and fatigue performance of FSPAM-processed AA 7075 aluminium alloy samples compared with the as-casted AA 7075 aluminium alloy. The microstructure of FSPAM AA 7075 aluminium alloy and as-casted AA 7075 aluminium alloy was investigated with the help of an inverted optical microscope. The microstructure of Friction Stir Powder Additive Manufacturing (FSPAM) AA 7075 aluminium alloy and as-casted AA 7075 aluminium alloy were systematically examined. The analysis revealed a distinct difference in grain size between the two materials. |
