Abstract: The work demonstrated in the thesis entitled "Advancement and Fabrication of Supercapacitor Electrodes Employing Organic and Inorganic Polymeric Materials" was initiated in December 2019 in the Department of Chemistry, Indian Institute of Technology Indore. The objectives of this thesis are to synthesize various organic and inorganic polymeric materials, including Coordination Polymers (CPs) and Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), and Covalent Organic Frameworks (COFs), using different approaches for supercapacitor studies. Objectives and Scope The thesis work focuses on the following key points- 1. Efficient synthesis of coordination polymers and metal-organic frameworks using direct methods employing organic/metalloligands. 2. Comprehensive characterization of CPs and MOFs, along with an investigation into the effect of electrolytic cations on supercapacitor applications. 3. Novel development of MOF derived from waste materials and MOF-on-MOF heterostructures, followed by extensive characterizations. 4. Utilization of waste-derived MOF and MOF-on-MOF architectures in supercapacitor and their device fabrication. 5. Synthesis of porphyrin-based covalent organic frameworks and their composite materials tailored for supercapacitor functionalities. 6. Systematic investigation of supercapacitor performance using a diverse array of electrochemical techniques.
