dc.description.abstract | In this paper, a compact wideband 2-element cavity backed MIMO antenna is presented for 5G millimeter-wave (mm-wave) applications aiming at n257 and n258 bands. The proposed antenna element is based on a complementary split ring resonator element printed on a low loss dielectric substrate Rogers 5880 of size 22.58 mm × 12.09 mm × 0.79 mm. The design exhibits a 2:1 VSWR response from 26.13 to 28.80 GHz, a peak realized gain of 8.78 dBi, and a radiation efficiency above 97.13% in the presented band. A few MIMO parameters are also investigated, such that channel capacity loss is observed less than 0.3 bits/s/Hz and the envelope correlation coefficient is observed in the range of 0.001 as per ITU standards for the mm-wave applications. © 2024 IEEE. | en_US |
