Abstract: | This paper proposes a data-driven approach to determine the source of forced oscillations occurring due to increased solar generation in the Indian power system. The proposed method utilises the area covered by the trajectory of positive sequence voltage phasor obtained from a phasor data concentrator to detect the oscillation’s source. The proposed method is tested for the forced oscillations encountered in the Indian power system on 1st May 2024. Compared to the Dissipating Energy Flow method for oscillation source detection, the results suggest better localisation of forced oscillations, thus giving valuable insights to power system operators for better and more efficient system management. © 2024 IEEE. |
