Abstract: The main objective of this thesis is to develop transition metal-free one-pot synthetic strategies to access value-added pyridines and pyrazolones in a simple, effective, pot-economical, and environment-friendly manner from readily available cost-effective reactants. The first chapter starts with a general introduction highlighting the historical significance and medicinal impact of naturally occurring heterocycles on human life in the past centuries and later synthetic protocols documented for synthesizing the aforesaid class of derivatives through various synthetic modifications.
