Wheat, being the major staple crop, needs efficient monitoring. Aerial hyperspectral imagery provides the advantage of monitoring crop types over a large area and analyze stress-affected crops. This study aimed to identify early abiotic stress mainly nitrogen stress using unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) based hyperspectral imaging (HSI) and field spectroscopy for the wheat. Plants overdozed with nitrogen showed higher reflectance value and NDVI (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index) value compared to underdozed plants. The spectra obtained from hand held spectroradiometer showed a good correlation with spectra obtained from aerial hyperspectral image. © 2025 IEEE.en_US
