dc.description.abstractIn this study, we summarize quarkonium polarization measurement obtained using the muon spectrometer of ALICE at forward rapidity in pp and Pb-Pb collisions at the LHC energies. The inclusive J/ψpolarizationparametersλ<inf>θ</inf>,λ<inf>ϕ</inf>,andλ<inf>θϕ</inf> are obtained in helicity, Collins-Soper reference frames for pp and Pb-Pb collisions at A chemical structure diagram showing a hexagonal benzene ring with alternating double bonds. Attached to the ring are two hydroxyl groups (OH) at the first and second positions, and a carboxyl group (COOH) at the third position. = 8 TeV and 5.02 TeV, respectively. Further, the frame invariant parameter λ~isobtainedforppcollisionsandforthefirsttimetheλ<inf>θ</inf> parameter is measured in the event plane frame for Pb-Pb collisions. The quarkonium polarization measurement in hadronic and nuclear collisions constrains the production mechanism. However, in Pb-Pb collisions, it may affected by several other mechanisms such as suppression, regeneration, etc. The experimental measurements are compared with NRQCD and CSM model predictions. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.en_US
