We report an operationally simple and highly efficient protocol for the visible light-induced photocatalytic synthesis of alkynyl germanes from coupling between aryl sulfonyl alkynes and hydrogermanes. This study highlights the use of the simple sulfonamides as hydrogen atom catalyst and readily available 4CzIPN as photocatalyst for the activation of Ge-H bonds of hydrogermanes. This transition metal-free protocol demonstrates broader substrate scope and is suitable for the late-stage functionalization. © 2026 Georg Thieme Verlag. All rights reserved.en_US
