Abstract: Colossal magnetoresistance of manganites with general formula La1−xAxMnO3 (A = Ca, Sr, Pb, Ba etc.) has been the aim of many researches. This magnetoresistive properties of these compounds has been widely used with in few years. Researches shows that this magnetoresistance in related with the electron-phonon coupling of compounds. In order to investigate the possible correlation between the electron phonon coupling and magnetoresistance, the polycrystalline samples of Ca doped LaMnO3 have been prepared. Structural phase purity of these samples have been examined through X-ray diffraction spectroscopy and single phase samples has been successfully prepared. The variation of lattice parameter with Ca doping has been studied. These samples were further characterized using Raman spectroscopy. The further investigation of magnetoresistance and electron phonon coupling will be carried out in near future.
