Abstract: The Homo sapiens on the planet earth evolved as a unique and prosperous species in the realm of living organisms. The intriguing aptitude of Homo sapiens (only surviving hominins) concerning data storage other than cerebral records profile them as unique species pioneered with markings on stones, cave drawings that set out a capacity for abstract thought and communication. The peculiar ability of homo sapiens to cooperate a plan and strategies based on possible documentation for hunting, controlling the fire (turning point discovery for technological evolution), agriculture, cooking adroitness, and strategies to protect their life and livelihood from wildlife predators based on feasible documentation may have been the ultimate weapons for their evolvement from wildlife style to the present-day civilized humans. From ancient era to present times, to cope with survival demands, humans need to transfer their erudition and constructive acquaintances to the inheriting generations for their prosperous life. Further, due to their mortal nature, self-evident documentations are necessitated for its successful comprehension and serve as the vital genesis for the technological evolution of humans with divergent specialization such as mathematics, astrology, science, weather predictions, etc., To conserve these cumulated acquaintances, disparate documenting techniques have been adapted by humans to store the information such as cave paintings, papers, magnetic tapes, optical storage products (CDs, DVDs, and BDs) and electronic memory products. Presently, the exponential growth of information leads to gigantic amounts of data storage (zettabytes) and in turn demands extensive processing capabilities in the data storage domain.
