Organic conjugated polymers have various applications in diverse subjects. Among them PDAs are studied most widely because of their various structures and applications. In this study I have started with 6-aminocaproic acid as a precursor which then has been coupled with 4-pentynoic acid. The coupled product then undergoes homo-coupling to form 1,3-diacetylene monomer. The monomer formed then has been polymerized under UV light (254 nm) and the color changed from white to blue. Each step has been monitored by Thin Layer Chromatography (TLC).All synthesized compounds have been purified by Column Chromatography and characterized by mass spectrometry and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques.en_US
