dc.description.abstract | In recent years, luminescent carbon dots have gained widespread attention because of their small size, low cost and relatively strong fluorescence properties. These carbon quantum dots are widely used in various potential, biomedical, physical, electronic and optical applications; such as light emitting diodes, chemical sensors, solar cells, bioimaging and electrocatalysis etc. Carbon quantum dots can be synthesized by multiple methods such as hydrothermal method, microwave pyrolysis, arc discharge method and electrochemical synthesis. In this report different properties, preparation methods and applications of CDs will be summarized. | en_US |
