The overall aim of this project is to synthesize and characterize Cu(I) complexes that emit lightin the UV-visible range upon excitation and this makes them usable as emitters in the optoelectronic devices. For this work, efforts were made to the synthesis of three-coordinate copper(I) complexes bearing bulky and rigid ligands. A bidentate N^N ligand and a bulky monodentate N-heterocyclic carbene ligand is proposed for the synthesis of copper(I) complexes. Here, N heterocyclic carbene ligand will have a sigma donor property and phenazine-2,3-dicarbonitrilo has acceptor property. The synthesized complexes were characterized by various spectroscopic techniques.en_US
