Abstract: Metal and ridge assisted slot waveguide is proposed on the silicon on insulator (SOI) platform for biochemical sensing applications. Slot-based nanophotonic sensors give high sensitivity for detection of bio-analytes and chemicals. The proposed structure is investigated numerically by optimizing the design parameters. © 2018 IEEE.
