dc.description.abstract | Abstract: A handy diagram—the Raman parameter information diagram, or “RAPID”—is proposed here, which can be used for listing spectral parameters associated with a Raman spectrum. It is demonstrated how, by drawing simple shapes such as lines and triangles, it becomes possible to easily express various findings in a Raman spectrum, for example red- (or blue-)shift, asymmetry, broadening, and antiresonance. It will also be explained how, by following a simple protocol, the non-ambiguous identification of Raman spectral features is made easier in pictorial form. The proposed diagram may prove to be a good tool in the field of Raman spectroscopy. Although it is proposed for Raman spectra, RAPID can be used to represent features of any spectra.
