Abstract: The polycrystalline powders of Pr1-xBixCrO3 (x = 0, 0.02, 0.05) have been synthesized by using solid state synthesis method at ambient pressure. Structural phase identification is carried by using X-ray diffraction technique followed by Rietveld refinement using the FullProf suite. All the compounds are found to crystallize in an orthorhombic structure with Pbnm space group. It is observed that Bi doping lowers lattice strain along with crystallite size. Increase in the lattice parameters b,c with no change in lattice parameter a is observed with Bi substitution. The energy band gap is calculated from diffuse reflectance spectroscopy and is found to be decreasing with Bi substitution from 3.19 to 2.35 eV. © 2020 Author(s).
