dc.description.abstract | This paper describes a high gain substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) fed slot antenna array for millimeter-wave (mm-wave) wireless communication in Ka-band (26-40 GHz). The designed antenna array consists of 1×4 rectangular slots in the SIW cavities, where the cavities are cascaded in a shunt-fed manner. The single antenna geometry, while studied, resonates at 28 GHz with peak gain of 7.12 dBi in the broadside direction. The antenna array, realized for achieving high gain, exhibits an impedance bandwidth of 1.04 GHz (27.53-28.57 GHz) with a maximum gain of 12.3 dBi at 28 GHz. In addition, the geometry has a simple low-profile topology and yields low cross-polarization levels. © 2021 IEEE. | en_US |
