Abstract: | In the past couple of years, researchers have primarily tried to come up with possibilities to vanquish the concerns of medical healthcare system. The growing interest along with the advancement in nanotechnology is attributable to its relevant features in the domain of nanomedicine. As drug delivery vehicles owing multi-modal characteristic these possess features such as therapeutics, diagnostic and imaging, vaccine development, medical instruments and devices in the field of healthcare and pharmaceutical industry. There are several nanocarrier mediated therapeutic platforms such as liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, albumin nanoparticles, organic as well as inorganic nanoparticles and many therapeutic efficacies enabled modalities which are investigated currently showing promising role clinically with a definite purpose in near the future. There are several kinds of conventional therapeutic agents available which results in non-specific adverse effects with inclination towards multi-drug resistance, or effective in proper demarcation of tumour boundaries showing off-targets effects susceptible to rapid degradation and comprises of short half-life when delivered orally. So, to overcome these problems need inherits the development biodegradable and biocompatible biomaterials having multi-functional role with excellent control over biological as well as physio-chemical properties. Moreover, the need demands efficacy along with safer delivery and enhanced therapeutic effect. |
