Abstract: | In this article we report strategies to improve upon the performance of conducting polymer based organic field effect transistors. We further report fabrication and characterization of thin film OFETs developed using ribbon shaped Floating Film Transfer Technique. These ribbon shaped FTM thin films of conducting polymers comprised of well oriented chains, thus possessing high degree of anisotropy. The optical anisotropy also manifests itself in charge transport, thereby resulting in large difference in the drive current of the OFETs having polymer chains oriented parallel and perpendicular to the OFETs. Using different coating techniques as well as optimizing the ribbon FTM thin films we demonstrated functional organic photosensitive transistors. © 2023 FTFMD. |
