Abstract: This paper presents a novel numerical indexing technique based on calculating blockwise temporal history followed by absolute value of difference (AVD). For experimental analysis, viability detection of soybean seed was undertaken. Better performance accuracy as compared to conventional indices is achieved using the proposed strategy. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
