Abstract: | A downlink multi-user hybrid satellite-terrestrial relay network (HSTRN) is considered in this paper, where a multi-antenna satellite communicates with the multiple terrestrial users via an interference-limited amplify-and-forward relay. For this network, we investigate the average symbol error probability (SEP) performance by employing opportunistic scheduling of multiple ground users with outdated channel state information (CSI) of the pertaining channels and considering co-channel interference (CCI) at the relay. Specifically, we derive closed-form analytical and asymptotic expressions of the average SEP for the considered network. Further, numerical and Monte-Carlo simulation results are implemented to vindicate the accuracy of our hypothesis as well as to demonstrate the influence of outdated CSI, CCI, and various channel/system parameters on the system performance. Our analysis provides useful trends in the design of HSTRNs for future wireless communication systems. © 2019 IEEE. |
