Abstract: | Herein, a pristine ZnO nanofiber-based high responsivity UV photodetector has been reported. A thorough analysis of the impact of nanostructures morphology on the device performance has been performed. The nanorods diameter was systematically reduced from 200 nm (nanorods) to 55 nm (nanofibers), just by changing the precursor concentration, which has significantly improved the device performance. Under 350 nm, 1 mW/cm2 light illumination, the device has demonstrated the sensitivity and responsivity of 2.9 × 104 and 28.6 A/W, respectively. The UV to visible rejection (R350/R450) ratio of the device was 730.87. Moreover, the device has shown significantly high specific detectivity (D∗) and external quantum efficiency of 5.2 × 1013 cmHz1/2W-1 and 10370.75%, respectively. The device presented in this work could be a potential candidate for the next generation UV photodetector-based applications. © 2017 IEEE. |
