Abstract: We propose a generalization of the rough set model where approximation operators are defined relative to a given collection of subsets of the domain of objects. A modal logic with semantics based on relative accessibility relations is also proposed, that can be used to reason about the proposed approximations. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 20118.
