Abstract: | ‘Alignment without decoupling’ in two-Higgs-doublet model (2HDM) is particularly important as it allows for new scalars of masses $$\sim \mathcal {O}(100)$$GeV with sizable decay to SM particles even after the discovery of the SM-like Higgs. In light of measurement of Higgs signal strengths and direct exotic scalar searches at LHC, the constraints on the masses and couplings of the new scalars in 2HDM are rather significant. We have investigated the sacrosanctity of these constraints when any new physics beyond a tree-level 2HDM at a $$\sim $$TeV scale is introduced. It is found that, for cascade decays of new scalars in 2HDM at LHC, the constraints on masses can be significantly changed. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2020. |
