Abstract: This chapter briefly discusses the role of homoleptic metal carbonyls in organic transformations. A humble effort has been made to accommodate the organic reactions which are developed in last few decades and are otherwise difficult to synthesis through the conventional organic synthesis and/or requires the adoption of multistep synthesis. Discussion will be confined to the group 6 and group 8 transition metal carbonyls with a gentle focus on some other metal carbonyls within the scope of the book. For readers convenience a great number of reactions are summarized in tables. © 2015 by Scrivener Publishing LLC. All rights reserved.
