Abstract: | This work presents a bandpass frequency selective surface (FSS) for satellite communication application based on substrate integrated waveguide (SIW) technology. The SIW cavity results in the generation of additional resonance and exhibits a sharp roll-off performance around the transmission peak and hence a improved EM performance is obtained. The FSS element is designed to operate around 4 GHz band for satellite application. The hexagonal shape slot structure is chosen to provide polarization insensitive performance. The performance comparison results depicts the superiority of the SIW cavity based FSS over its conventional design. © 2021 IEEE. |
