Abstract: | In this paper, validation of a fairly low computational complexity Direction of Arrival (DoA) estimation algorithm is done for a very low frequency antenna in context to an ongoing space mission Space Electric and Magnetic Sensor(SEAMS). The objective of this mission is to study low frequency emission from the Sun along with the Earth's magnetosphere geo-tail, galactic extra galactic spectra, 21 cm cosmology, and space plasma. To estimate the DoA a goniopolarimetric technique using 3 orthogonal dipole(tri-dipole) antennas are implemented. The tri-dipoles were simulated on CST simulation software with plane wave excitation for generating near realistic data for the DoA estimation. To estimate the frequency received at the tri-dipole antennas, the algorithm also utilizes Matrix pencil(MP) method and Least Square method(LSM). © 2021 IEEE. |
