Abstract: | The presence and characteristics of Dark Matter (DM) are inferred indirectly through observed gravitational e↵ects in astronomy and cosmology. These e↵ects include the direct observation of weak gravitational lensing near clusters, the study of missing mass in clusters and galaxies, the structure of galactic rotation curves, and the correlation between cosmic microwave background anisotropies and the large-scale structure of the universe. These phenomena collectively suggest the existence of DM as a plausible explanation. The Standard Model of particle physics (SMPP) is currently the leading theory for describing all known fundamental particles, except gravity. While the SMPP successfully incorporates three of the four fundamental forces, it lacks a suitable candidate for Dark Matter. Therefore, the shortcomings of the SMPP necessitate the development of new physics models capable of addressing these limitations. Such models may have significant implications for understanding the early history of the universe. |
